About the Heritage Channel

Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The Heritage Channel  is dedicated to exploring the fascinating history of North East Lincolnshire  including the seaside town of Cleethorpes and the ports of Grimsby  and Immingham. A monthly magazine programme reports on heritage issues and stories, our longer documentaries delve deeper into the proud heritage of our coastal community.

About The Heritage Channel

 The Heritage Channel is a community TV channel operated by Hammond House Ltd and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. 

Now coming to the end of its third series The Heritage Channel  is dedicated to exploring the history of North East Lincolnshire  in  its monthly magazine programmes and longer documentaries that delve deeper into the proud heritage of our coastal community.


We have over 3m viewers: 38k average viewers: over 600k peak viewers and a network of 390k subscribers.


We support other local heritage organisations with community  engagement, staff and volunteer training, marketing, evidencing outcomes and securing further funding.


In Series 4 we are aiming to explore live streaming of heritage events, expand our training options, develop content for new digital platforms followed by young people and minority groups and work in partnership with other local organisations delivering National Lottery Heritage funded projects.  Environmental heritage and heritage of the future will be key themes.


HAMMOND HOUSE LTD

Founded in 2016, Hammond House Ltd Is a not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to exploring, developing, supporting and promoting the  culture, heritage and people of the coastal community of North East Lincolnshire.


Working in partnership with other local community organisations, local and national funding bodies and national bodies for arts, heritage and culture, we deliver projects and events that involve and benefit the local community and promote North East Lincolnshire as an area of special cultural and heritage interest.


Our projects include establishing, developing and supporting writers' groups, running annual literary and arts festivals in partnership with University Centre Grimsby, Create NEL and the Royal Society for Arts, delivering workshops for young people in partnership with Unseen Arts and The Culture House and supporting young people's environmental projects in partnership with Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire.


We also support other TV channels, art galleries, international literary prizes and projects that support the development of talented people operated by partner organisations.


We are fortunate to receive support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, The National Lottery Community Fund, Awards for All, Arts Council England, Create NEL, The Royal Society for Arts  and University Centre Grimsby. Their support enables us to carry  out this valuable work in supporting local people and promoting the rich and diverse heritage of our coastal community to an international audience.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES  with the Heritage Channel include project administrators, researchers, scriptwriters, journalists,  presenters   film crew  and editors. Gain valuable experience and training to improve  your chances of employment.


FREELANCE PROFESSIONAL work is available for videographers, editors and other professional filmmakers based in North East Lincolnshire.

Free Training

Free training is currently available for individuals and organisations involved in the heritage of North East Lincolnshire in creating broadcast quality video content using smartphones. In Series 4 we are aiming to also include digital marketing.
